  1. Sturgis Ride-Part 2
From KT DID  I have been trying to upload all the photos and Go Pro Hero mini flicks and I have so many I have to pick and choose.  So I have decided to put them on my Smug Mug Photo site as I upload them.  I have to convert the mini movies over and it takes a little time so not all are up yet.  At this writing, I am on the road again.  So with that tidbit of info, on with the Sturgis Ride.... First Round OverIts starts getting a lot

  2. Fast Motorcycle Industry News
From Cyril Huze Blog... Myrtle Beach Rally. Will the South Carolina Supreme Court’s ruling overturning the Myrtle Beach’s helmet law be enough to have bikers return in greater numbers next year? Some local businesses are optimistic for a motorcycle rally rebirth in 2011.... This is a content summary only. Click on headlines for full links, images, other content and more!

  3. Ripped From Today's Headlines
From Underblog Rides Again Spotted in the nytimes online this morning, this article. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/12/us/12helmet.html I think I am one of the few people to examine the methodology of motorcycle helmet laws and the statistics used to promote and resist them. In fact the only contribution I made to the field in graduate school was to look at the wholly unstudied phenomenon of motorcycle helmet laws and the interest groups that argue their merits. If you look at the graph that accompanies the article, it shows "deaths per motorcycle registration." Since when did the number of motorcycles

  4. RICHARD QUIGLEY
From KT DID I thought I would pass this on as it was passed on to me by my ABATE people. Its a great interview on Richard Quiqley who fought the helmet law for us in the State of California for years and unfortunately passed on with cancer. Rest in Peace.KT Did

  5. From uncaged librarian End of the road for America's biker culture? As the women at the SBB biker bar here greet the six o'clock hour by jiggling to a blaring version of Kid Rock's take on "Sweet Home Alabama," Bob Johnston leans back, flips his flip-flops off, and ponders the state of America's biker culture. The party inside the saloon notwithstanding, the news ain't good, he says.Just up the road, Myrtle Beach, S.C. ? the site for 68 years of the world's largest Harley-Davidson rally, drawing nearly half a million riders annually ? has effectively

  7. Donna's Introduction....
From Cruising Down Under About me??? Hi I'm Donna, a 49 year old female motorcyclist living in South East Queensland, Australia. I started riding too many years ago to think about and have amazing stories and pictures of great rides and travels but for now just a short introduction....Years ago when I lived on the Gold Coast I owned a GSX250 Suzuki which I soon upgraded to a GSX650. I lived in a share house with 3 other women who all rode motorbikes (OK so one was a scooter, but we let her think

  8. The Problem With "Let Those Who Ride Decide"
From Generic Blog Motorcycle rights organizations continue to beat a dead horse by trying to repeal the helmet law. The reason that will never happen is "people" (including some motorcyclists) are basically stupid. Be it a third world country, or right here in the good old USA. There will always be a few morons that need protection from themselves.

  9. New Riders
From Biker Blog from Air Shammy Cycle Dryer Well after a few months of high gas prices, it is finally occurring. More people are buying motorcycles. While I applaud their decision, I have a few concerns. Now don't get me wrong here, I would always recommend that people ride motorcycles. There is no greater feeling of freedom than riding down the highway. My concern is that they need some intensive training. Riding a motorcycle is NOT like riding a car, or a bicycle, or even a dirt bike. Riding a motorcycle on the roads today can be considerably dangerous.

  10. Helmets?
From Generic Blog Illinois is one of the few states with no helmet law, and just about everyone rides with no safety gear at all. No gloves, boots or leathers, but I guess if you don't care enough to cover your head, why care about your hands, feet or skin? The ones that disturb me are guys like this. Young, riding a brand new sportbike (if you look closely, it still has temporary tags) that costs nearly ten thousand dollars, and no one is responsible enough to make him spend $100 on a basic

  11. Helmet Law
From First Street Bike by KYW?s Tony Romeo PennDot says the number of motorcycle fatalities in 2004 -- the first full year after a change in state law allowed adults over age 21 to ride without a helmet ?- decreased from the previous year. Pennsylvania?s helmet law was repealed as of September 2003, and PennDot spokesman Steve Chizmar says the number of motorcycle fatalities actually dropped by 14 the following year: ?In 2004, there were 157 motorcyclist fatalities, and that compares to 2003, when 171 motorcyclists lost their lives.? But Chizmar says the total
